Projects eligible for submission must be located in the Metro New York area and be completed after January 1st, 2024, or substantially complete before April 1st, 2025.<\/h4>\n<h4>Submit your project for a chance to win MNY ICRI Chapter\u2019s Project of the Year Award or an Award of Merit. In addition, our Chapter will cover the Project of the Year Award winner\u2019s cost to submit their project to National ICRI for a chance to win a 2025 National ICRI Project Award.<\/h4>\n<h3>All submissions are due by <del>Friday, April 11th, 2025 at 5:00 PM EST.\u00a0<\/del> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Submission deadline extended to Wednesday, May 7th at 5:00 pm EST<\/span>.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Please use the online submission form on this page to submit your project.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Submission Rules<\/h1>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Project qualifications:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project must either be completed after January 1, 2024, or substantially complete before April 1, 2025. The project must not have previously won an ICRI national award. Projects must be located in the Metro New York market. This includes projects taking place in Northern New Jersey, New York City, Westchester, Putnam, Rockland County &amp; Long Island. Entries will be judged on uniqueness, use of state-of-the-art methods, use of materials, functionality, value engineering, and aesthetics.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Submitting company:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entries must be submitted by a\u00a0chapter member\u00a0of ICRI Metro New\u00a0York. The submitting company must also be a\u00a0company\u00a0member or greater of ICRI National.\u00a0The portion of the repair project which is performed by the submitting company must\u00a0amount to at least 25% of the project cost. (Project cost does not apply to design firms or\u00a0owners.) For purposes of this determination, a subcontract for the repair portion of a larger\u00a0project will be considered to be the project.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Owner permission:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Written permission from the project\u2019s owner\u00a0MUST\u00a0be included with the entry.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Entry requirements:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each entry\u00a0MUST\u00a0include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Detailed project description with cover and photos (worthy of\u00a0presentation\/publication) not to exceed 2,000 words, (see Rule 5 below).<\/li>\n<li>An abstract of the project, not to exceed 300 words<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Permission from Project Owner<\/li>\n<li>All entries must be submitted through the\u00a0online submission form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Project Presentation PDF<\/strong> (including cover, written description, photographs, and drawings):<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be the only piece seen by the judges. The project presentation shall conform to the\u00a0following:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Description shall be in 8.5 x 11 inch (or metric equivalent) format, with the exception of drawings that may be 11 x 17 inch &#8211; (presentation\/publication worthy). Information you may want to include:\n<ul>\n<li>Structure characteristics (size, construction, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Problems that prompted repair<\/li>\n<li>Inspection\/evaluation methods<\/li>\n<li>Test results<\/li>\n<li>Causes of deterioration<\/li>\n<li>Repair system selection (generic)<\/li>\n<li>Site preparation<\/li>\n<li>Demolition method<\/li>\n<li>Surface preparation<\/li>\n<li>Application method selection<\/li>\n<li>Repair process execution<\/li>\n<li>Unforeseen conditions discovered<\/li>\n<li>Durability and Quality<\/li>\n<li>Special features that make the project worthy of an award<\/li>\n<li>The written description of the project\u00a0must not exceed 2,000 words. However, the more detailed an entry is concerning technical aspects, special features, uniqueness, etc., without exceeding 2,000 words, the better informed the judges will be in making their determinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cover shall contain the project title and a maximum of 2 photographs and\/or figures. No information regarding project participants shall be on the cover.<\/li>\n<li>A maximum of 15 photos\/images may be included within the body of the text or as appendices. Images may consist of photographs, figures, and\/or drawings. Photographs inserted into other photographs\/images shall be considered a separate image for counting purposes. Cover photos shall be excluded from this requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Along with your entry, you must submit separate copies of all photos and images.\u00a0Photos should have a resolution of 300 dpi or greater. These photos are also used in the presentation and publicity of winning entries; therefore, only good quality prints should be selected, at\u00a0least one of which depicts the completed project. If copyright is not owned by the submitter, permission to use must be included with the submission.<\/li>\n<li>Project videos will not be accepted as documentation for judging.<br \/>\n<i class=\"fa fa-align-justify\" style=\"color:#ffffff;\"><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Participant identification:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure fairness in judging, all participant identification (Entry\u00a0Form Part I) is separated and is not seen by the judges.\u00a0Therefore, entries must be prepared\u00a0so that company and product names (of submitting company or project partners) do not\u00a0appear anywhere except for Entry Form Part I. Product literature should not be submitted ,and photos\u00a0MUST\u00a0not display company logos or product identification.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Judging:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Award of Excellence &#8211; Concrete:\u00a0The highest scoring concrete repair project chosen by the judges will be awarded the Award of Excellence in the concrete category. Winner will receive a plaque, as well as one free admission to the annual MNY holiday party.<\/li>\n<li>Award of Excellence &#8211; Fa\u00e7ade:\u00a0The highest scoring fa\u00e7ade\u00a0project chosen by the judges will be awarded the Award of Excellence in the fa\u00e7ade\u00a0category. Winner will receive a plaque, as well as one free admission to the annual MNY holiday party.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note: More than one Award of Excellence may be given in each category; however, categories are not required to have awardees.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Project of the Year:\u00a0This award is given to the project that is deemed to be the highest scoring project among the winning projects of all categories. Winner will receive a plaque, as well as one free admission to the annual MNY holiday party. In addition, the Metro New York chapter will pay the submission fee for entry of the winning project into the ICRI National Project Awards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Winning entries:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Winning entries will receive recognition at a dinner event as well as being featured on the chapter website<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Additional participants:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A maximum of five (5) participants in the project will be recognized. The names and locations of the project owner, designer, contractor, and material supplier should be included with the submission. Please make sure this information is complete and correct. If a participant is not listed with the original entry, they will not appear in the newsletter. Exceptions to this rule will be made only by vote of the Awards Committee, whose decision will be final.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Deadline:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit entries online using the Project Awards Entry Form. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, April 11th, 2025.
