ICRI Metro New York 2025 President\u2019s Message<\/strong><\/h5>\n
Dear Members and Sponsors,<\/h5>\n
As I embark on my second year as President of the ICRI Metro New York (MNY) Chapter, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to all. Your unwavering support as members and sponsors has been the cornerstone of our success, and I deeply appreciate your contributions.<\/h5>\n
Reflecting on 2024, our chapter achieved significant milestones, hosting numerous technical and networking events. Our technical program offered 8 PDHs through initiatives such as the Parking Garage Inspection Panel (PIPS) \u2013 LL126 with the Department of Buildings, the Sustainability Symposium, and the Joint Demo Day with NWIR. Networking highlights included our Chapter Fishing Trip, Joint Summer Social with IIBEC and NWIR, Golf Outing, and the Holiday Party, where we proudly contributed to Toys for Tots.<\/h5>\n
Another notable accomplishment was our successful Awards &amp; Lifetime Achievement Award program. From seven project submissions, we recognized four winners:<\/h5>\n

    Project of the Year:<\/strong>\u00a0Stony Brook HSC (Structural)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Awards of Excellence:<\/strong>\u00a0Constantino Nivola Play Horses (Jablonski Building\u00a0Conservation) and 650 6th Avenue \u201cThe Cammeyer\u201d (KamenTall Architects)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    Award of Merit:<\/strong>\u00a0The Brooklyn Bridge Restoration (Pullman)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    We also celebrated our inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, Si Solomon and Pat Morrissey, for their decades of dedication to the chapter. Additionally, in 2024, we awarded three $2,500 scholarships to local students pursuing careers in engineering, restoration, and management.<\/h5>\n

      We also warmly welcome three new Directors to our Board: Jamie Ram from Structural, John Grande from Superstructures, and Mitalee March from KamenTall Architects.<\/h5>\n
      Looking ahead, 2025 promises another exciting year filled with enriching opportunities. Our calendar of events includes:<\/h5>\n

        January 29th at Club 101:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cAsk the DOB: FISP &amp; Beyond\u201d with Deputy\u00a0Commissioner Yegal Shamash, PE<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n

        Upcoming programs (tentative): AI in the AEC Industry, Spring Social, Difficulties in\u00a0Access, Awards Program, Fishing Trip, Emerging Professional technical\/social event,\u00a0Golf Outing, Symposium on Masonry Cleaning, Joint Demo Day, Ask the DOB Part II \u2013\u00a0PIPS, Holiday Party, and more<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Furthermore, I am pleased to announce that I will be joining the ICRI National Executive Committee as Secretary. This position will allow me to represent the ICRI Metro New York Chapter at the highest of levels within this great organization.<\/h5>\n
